The phrase I say most frequently to those looking to make the move is "living here is not like being on vacation here". If you love the Italy of your vacation then visit on vacations. A lot of the awe you had before moving disappears when you are just doing that normal thing we call LIVING. Pretty soon those thoughts of "oh how cute those little Ape are" become "why can't people drive a little faster in those darn things!"

The day to day life in Italy is very similar to other places. You get up in the morning, shower, dress, go to work, put in your 8 - 10 hours, go home have dinner, watch TV or go out then off to bed only to do it all again the next day. It is nice though having the beauty of this country to wake up to and work in.

One of the hardest things for most is to get used to go without the things they are used to. Many things are either impossible or very difficult to find. Check out the FAQ for some helpful hints and drop me a line if you have any to add.
